Art of Treasure (part 1)

Twenty years ago today, a film released that puzzled critics, sank at the box office, and dazzled the handful of youngsters that watched it. Of course, to fully understand how Treasure Planet came to be and why it wasn’t initially well-received, you have to look back a bit further than two decades ago…. In the mid-Eighties, the Walt Disney Company was struggling to stay relevant in the.. While not as extensive as the old Hyperion editions, this ‘art of’ Treasure Planet is a good, solid book, a must for fans of the film. The work goes into detail on all the major designs and characters and gives us pictures of even the minorest walk on. I would have liked a bit more art from the film, but given the shoddy way Disney seems to be.
